Leadership Team
Jeff has Over 25 years of experience in industry, academia, and in the founding and operation of start-up technology companies. He began his career as a system analyst at Atlantic Richfield Company and then joined AT&T Bell Laboratories where he contributed to the development of digital switching systems. Jeff received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1981.
In 1983, Jeff founded UTEK, Inc., a computer consulting company, which quickly established itself as a premier consulting firm specializing in the telecommunication industry. In 1999, UTEK was providing consulting services on a national basis from five strategic US locations. UTEK was eventually acquired by MPS Group, a NYSE public traded company, in that year.
In 2000, Jeff founded CIeNET International, a software development and testing outsourcing company. Over the years, CIeNET International, along with its subsidiary CIeNET (Beijing), have become one of the leading communications and enterprise software offshore outsourcing and solutions company in the world. Jeff has been active in the minority and Chinese-American communities on both professional and social levels in the US. He served on the Steering Committee of the Chicago Minority Business Development Council (1994-1999) and was a board member from 1997 through 1999.
