CIeNET Technologies has won a contract to build the nationwide centralized business management system of mobile number portability ((MNP) system in China, announced by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) on July 3, 2019.
“It’s an important moment for CIeNET to be awarded the contract after nine years’ partnership with CAICT for the development on a complex and large-scale MNP system in China, “said Jarter Fang, EVP of CIeNET. “Winning the contract celebrates the continuous hard work of our dedicated professionals and experts to guarantee that our clients’ needs are met. ”
China trialed the country’s first mobile portability in Tianjin and Hainan in late 2010, and later expanded the program to Hubei, Jiangxi and Yunnan. In the 13th National People's Congress, Premier Li Keqiang said in his government work report that China will continue to speed up and lower the charges of Internet services. The MNP reform will be implemented across the country with standardized packages set up to truly lower the charges and benefit the consumers. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) then announced that the MNP program among China’s three wireless carriers would be carried out in the latter half of 2019 and will be implemented nationally by the end of this year.
“We’re thrilled that MNP is finally being implemented in China, after more than eight years of trials,” said CIeNET’s project manager of MNP. “Since 2009, our team has started building up the business management system for MNP from scratch. We will continue to maintain effective communication with CAICT and provide on-time and high-quality deliverables of a robust, stable and high-performance system.”
